Johan Walem

Johan Walem ( born 1 February 1972 in Soignies ) is a former Belgian international footballer. Meanwhile, he has been with Belgacom.

Life

As a youth player Walem was active in RWD Molenbeek. In 1986 he moved to RSC Anderlecht, where he made his debut in the First Division in 1991. With the club he was three times Belgian champion and took a time the trophy.

In 1997 Walem to Italy. In Udinese Calcio midfielder became the passer for Oliver Bierhoff and received because of the precise moves the nickname " Il Geometra ". 1999 he moved to Parma, but after one season he returned to Friuli.

2001 Walem returned briefly to Belgium back and signed a contract with Standard Liege. After two years he moved again to Italy, this time to Torino FC in Serie B. After a season in which only the 12th place was occupied, he moved to league rivals Catania Calcio. Following the 04/ 05 season, he ended his active career.

Walem was between 1991, his debut in the 0-1 defeat against Germany, and 2002 Belgian national team. He played 36 matches and scored two goals. He participated in the 2002 World Cup.
