Johann III. Romka

Johann III. Romka († November 19, 1301 ) was Bishop of Breslau.

Career

Johann Romka is first mentioned in a document dated June 3, 1267 as a chaplain and is attested for this year as Master. In 1268 he became canon of Breslau. In the conflict between Bishop Thomas II and Duke Henry IV, he stood on the side of the bishop.

After the death of Bishop Thomas II Johann Romka was elected by the chapter to his successor on April 24, 1292.

From his official acts is known that he consecrated the monastery and the church in Grüssau and 1295 a diocesan synod convened. This Gothic structure begun by Thomas I. was continued.
