Johann Melchior Roos

Johann Melchior Roos ( * December 27, 1663 in Heidelberg, † 1731 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German painter.

He lived from 1686 to 1690 in Italy, then in Frankfurt am Main, where he died in 1731. He is known for his lively, but not always anatomically correct representations of the animal world.

He is the son of the painter Johann Heinrich Roos and brother of the painter Philipp Peter Roos.
