Johannes Dürr

John Dürr ( born March 12, 1987 in Melk, Lower Austria ) is an Austrian cross-country skiers from Gostling (Lower Austria ).

Dürr was at the 2007 Junior World Championships in fourth before he reached at the Military World Ski Championships 2007 in Võru in individual over 15 km of the 16th Place and with the team to seventh place. However, afterwards he could have due to various diseases ( Pfeifer et al glandular fever ) until January 2013 any results in the World Cup points ranking. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, he reached the 64th place in the individual 50 km. As part of the Tour de Ski 2013 he was eighth in the 15 km Classic in January - contest. In the subsequent 9 km Mount tracking Dürr was fourth and hereby achieved his best World Cup result. In the overall standings of the Tour de Ski Dürr finally took the 24th place. With an eighth place in the 15 km freestyle competition in Davos he reached on February 17, 2013 his second top-10 result in the World Cup.

On 5 January 2014 he was at the final stage of the Tour de Ski champion and was third in the overall standings, which also means the first podium and win the World Cup for Dürr.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 he reached the Skiathlon about 15 km twice the eighth. After the competition, he returned for ten days to Austria, where he wanted to prepare for the final competition in the 50km mass start on the last day of the Games. On February 23, 2014 it was announced that, EPO was detected in a sample, which he had delivered at a doping control during this period. Dürr immediately confessed. The ÖOC took him immediately from the Austrian Olympic team.
