Johannes Krahn

Johannes Krahn ( born May 17, 1908 in Mainz, † October 17, 1974 in Orselina, Canton Ticino, Switzerland ) was a German architect and professor.

Life

Johannes Krahn graduated in architecture in the years 1923-1929 to the technical colleges Offenbach, at the School of Applied Arts Aachen and Cologne factory schools, where he was a pupil of Dominic Böhm. Boehm had been able to interest him church for the topic.

For his future career encounter with the Offenbacher architect Rudolf Schwarz was important, where he worked as a staff 1928-1940. He received his degree in civil engineering, he graduated from the RWTH Aachen Hans Karlinger. Between 1940 and 1945, Krahn worked in a senior position in the architectural firm of Herbert Rimpl in Berlin. Decisive was also his work on the Black -led arts and crafts school in Aachen. Since 1954 he was a professor of architecture at the Städel School in Frankfurt.

Johannes Krahn died on October 17, 1974 during a vacation in the Swiss Orselina.
