John Francis Kinney

John Francis Kinney ( born June 11, 1937 in Oelwein ) is an American clergyman and Bishop Emeritus of Saint Cloud.

Life

John Francis Kinney received on February 2, 1963, ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 9 November 1976 to the Auxiliary Bishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis and Titular Bishop of Caprulae. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, John Robert Roach, on January 25 of next year; Were co-consecrators Leo Binz, Archbishop Emeritus of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, and James Richard Ham MM, Auxiliary Bishop of Guatemala.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 28 June 1982 Bishop of Bismarck, and he was introduced to the office on 23 August of the same year. On 9 May 1995, he was appointed Bishop of Saint Cloud and introduced into the office on July 6 of the same year.
