John Henry Willcox

John Henry Willcox (* 1827 in Savannah, Georgia, † 1875 in Boston, Massachusetts ) was an American composer.

Willcox graduated from Trinity College in Hartford (Connecticut) training as a church musician, and then worked as an organist in Boston. He was one of the first trained in the U.S. Catholic church musician, was considered exceptional organ improviser and was also an expert on organ building.

From him a large number of fairs, propers and other sacred works has survived.
