John Joseph Fitzpatrick

John Joseph Fitzpatrick ( born October 12, 1918 in Trenton, Ontario, Canada; † 15 July 2006) was Bishop of Brownsville.

Life

John Joseph Fitzpatrick received on 13 December 1942, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 24 June 1968 Titular Bishop of Cenae and auxiliary bishop in Miami. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Miami, Coleman Francis Carroll, on 28 August of the same year; Co-consecrators were the Coadjutor Bishop of Nashville, Joseph Aloysius Durick, and Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Louis Bernardin from Atlanta.

On April 27, 1971, he was appointed bishop of Brownsville and introduced into the office on 28 August of the same year.

On November 30, 1991 Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation.
