John Park (politician)

John Park ( born 14 September 1973) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labour Party.

Life

Park attended the Blacklaw Primary School and Woodmill High School. At the age of 15 he began an apprenticeship as an electrician at the shipyard in Rosyth ( Rosyth Dockyard ). He attended Fife College and later the Lauder College. Between 1998 and 2001 acted as a union spokesman at the Park Rosyth Dockyard between 2004 and 2007 as deputy speaker of the Scottish Trades Union Congress.

Political career

First ran Park in the Scottish Parliament elections in 2007 on the regional list of Mid Scotland and Fife region in national elections and gained a seat in the Scottish Parliament. In the 2011 parliamentary elections park was elected for another term of office for the election Region Mid Scotland and Fife. Park was a member of the shadow cabinet of the Labour Party for changing ministerial posts and Parliamentary Secretary of the Labour Group in the Scottish Parliament. In December 2012, John Park, however, his mandate was back, in order to concentrate on his union activity. Jayne Baxter enlisted as a runner- list candidate after and was sworn in on 11 December in the Scottish Parliament.
