Jayne Baxter

Jayne Baxter ( born November 5, 1955) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labour Party.

Life

Baxter has spent most of her life in Fife. She attended Queen Anne High School in Dunfermline and then went to the Napier University in Edinburgh, where she earned a bachelor 's degree in business administration. Between 1975 and 2010, Baxter worked for the government of Fife, including the ministries social and youth work as well as economic and urban development. In 2010 she resigned from her job in order to concentrate on their candidacy in the Scottish Parliament elections in 2011. Baxter is a mother of two and grandmother of three.

Political career

In the 2011 parliamentary elections Baxter first came to elections at the national level. However, they applied not to the direct mandate of a constituency, but was set to the regional election list for the election Region Mid Scotland and Fife. As a result of the election results, however, the Labour Party received only three list seats in the region, which went to John Park, Richard Simpson and Claire Brennan Baker. In December 2012, John Park, however, his mandate was back, in order to concentrate on his union activity. For this reason moved Baker as the next -placed candidate list after and was sworn in on 11 December in the Scottish Parliament.
