John Rankin (footballer)

John Rankin (* June 27, 1983 in Bellshill, Scotland ) is a Scottish football player.

Rankin is most often used in the central or attacking midfield. Between 2000 and 2003 he played in the youth of Manchester United and was also temporarily in the senior squad, but never got to use one. In 2003 he moved into the second Scottish League to Ross County. 2006 he moved to Inverness Thistle. From January 2008 to 2011, the Scot plays in the Scottish Premier League with Hibernian. On 17 May 2011, he signed a two year contract with Dundee United.
