John Rhodes (racing driver)

John Rhodes ( born August 18, 1927 in Wolverhampton ) is a British former racing driver.

John Rhodes was a regular in the early 1960s in Formula Junior and won in 1961 for the Midland Racing Partnership team, the Irish Formula Junior Championship.

In 1962, he denied further races in Formula Junior and was now for the team of former Formula 1 driver Bob Gerard at the start. In 1963 he moved again and now denied his race for the team of Ken Tyrrell.

Rhodes became famous. Factory rider of Mini in the late 1960s His only Formula 1 Grand Prix denied Rhodes 1965 in Silverstone. The old Cooper T60 by Bob Gerard was inferior to the competition and had the whole weekend is a problem with the ignition, could not solve the mechanics of Gerard Racing. In the race, Rhodes fell with misfires far back and had to retire prematurely.
