John Whiteside

John Whiteside (* 1773 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, † July 28, 1830 ) was an American politician. Between 1815 and 1819 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

John Whiteside attended common schools and worked on the farm of his father. Later he went into the hotel and catering industry. He also operated a distillery. In his home, he also worked as a Justice of the Peace. Politically, he was a member of the end of the 1790s by Thomas Jefferson founded the Democratic-Republican Party. In the years 1810 and 1811 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania.

In the congressional elections of 1814 Whiteside was in the third electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Edward Crouch on March 4, 1815. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1819 two legislative sessions. In 1818 he gave up another candidacy. After his time U.S. House of Representatives Whiteside took his previous activities on again. He also occasionally worked as executor. In 1825 he was again a deputy in the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. He died on 28 July 1830 in Lancaster, where he was also buried.
