Johnny Saxton

Johnny Saxton ( born July 4, 1930 in Newark, NJ; † October 4, 2008 ) was an American boxer.

On October 20, 1954 Johnny Saxton defeated Kid Gavilan on points (15 rounds). He became world champion in the welterweight division. He lost on February 11, 1955, Ronnie Delaney on points, but this fight was not a title fight, thus retained his belt Saxton. This belt he had, however, already give it back in his first regular title defense, he lost against Tony DeMarco namely on April 1, 1955 by TKO in Round 14 ( the fight was scheduled for 15 rounds ). Saxton was born on March 14, 1956 re- welterweight champion, he won on points against Carmen Basilio. Then Johnny Saxton won three times, but all three fights were not title fights. The rematch against Carmen Basilio, he lost by KO in round 9 The third battle lost Johnny Saxton also by knockout in round two.

After two defeats in 1958 against Arcadia Ballroom ( October 21, 1958 by Points) and Willie Green ( December 15, 1958 by TKO in round 3 ) Johnny Saxton finished his career boxers.
