Jon Fisher

Jon B. Fisher ( born January 19, 1972 in Stanford, California) is an American entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, author and business expert. Fisher is one of the founders of the members of the Oracle Corporation company Bharosa, where he was working temporarily as CEO. Main product of Bharosa is authentication software Oracle Adaptive Access Manager ( OAAM ). Fisher 's become known among other things for its precise forecasts of the development of the economy of the United States, particularly unemployment. He teaches as Associate Professor at the University of San Francisco. The book written by him "Strategic Entrepreneurism: Shattering the Start -Up Entrepreneurial Myths " is one of several educational institutions including the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, required reading in MBA program. The book is one of three standard works also form the basis of a project of the Ohio Tech Angels, were investigated in the time frames and strategies in conjunction with the sale of companies, with a special focus on financed by business angels company.

Childhood and education

Fisher was born in Stanford Hospital, the son of university professors Gerald and Anita Fisher. He spent his school days at the Nueva School and the Crystal Springs Uplands School, both in Hillsborough ( California). At Vassar College, New York ( State), he completed his studies and received his PhD then at the University of San Francisco.

Career

In 1994, Fisher co-founder and CEO of Auto Reach, which now belongs to the largest U.S. car dealer AutoNation. 1998 his company NetClerk developed a method for on-line planning permission in 2002 NetClerk was sold to the company BidClerk. After the failure of NetClerk Fisher teamed up with the actors of the documentary Startup.com including Kaleil Isaza Tuzman to support entrepreneurs in restructuring and settlements. 2004, Fisher co-founder and CEO of Bharosa; the company was acquired by Oracle Corporation, 2007. On 20 July 2010 Fisher was introduced as the future CEO of Predilect, a new company in the field of online security. After a change of technology and business alignment Predilect changed its name to Crowd Optic, and Fisher was appointed on 17 November 2010 as CEO of Crowd Optic. In Wired magazine Bruce Sterling wrote about crowd Optic: "I have never read a nonfiction book or a novel in which ever would have indicated the possibility of such technology."

Fisher was and is also active as a speaker at universities and technology forums.

Theses and forecasts

According to Fisher, the decline in new construction activity in the residential sector is a good indicator for the future development of the unemployment rate dar. He writes: " Historically, followed viewed on a slump in construction activity in the U.S. housing in the following year is always a rise in unemployment ," and he concludes that there is a linear relationship between the construction activity and the national unemployment rate during a recession. During a lecture at Marquette University in April 2008, Fisher made one of the most accurate forecasts for the development of unemployment in U.S. history, as he predicted a rise in U.S. Arbeitslosenqoute to 9% in April 2009.

Before the Commonwealth Club of California Fisher predicted in August 2009, the unemployment rate in the U.S. will rise to a maximum of 10.4 %, and then fall to 8.0% by the end of 2010. Fisher explained the consumers' homes to the center of the U.S. economy and other economies. He introduced so that The World Is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman 's thesis into question. Fisher was one of the declared opponents of the bailouts from the U.S. Treasury, when he said: " There are different techniques of restructuring, with which the business world is familiar, but none of them is employed by the government ." However, Fisher also wrote that " entrepreneurship should not be used to smash the state's safety net ."

In an interview on IE Radio Fisher said in March 2010, the timing of the budget crisis in the United States 2011 accurately estimated.

Patents

Fisher is the co-inventor of four members and 14 pending patents: 7,908,645, 7,822,990, 7,616,764 and 7,596,701; the patents are related to methods for online data encryption and security as well as mobile applications.

Private life

Fisher has since 2002 been married to Darla Kincheloe Fisher, owner of Koze fashion boutique in Tiburon ( California). Their daughter was born in 2010.

Honorary Appointments

Fisher was a Trustee of the Nueva School in Hillsborough, California, and participated in 2008 at a fund-raising campaign this facility. He served as trustee of the Pacific Vascular Research Foundation in South San Francisco. Fisher was also active as a board member at the Buck Institute for Age Research.
