Jon M. Chu

Jonathan M. Chu ( born November 2, 1979 in Palo Alto, California) is an American film director, screenwriter and producer.

Life and career

Chu is a graduate of the University of Southern California and won the 2001 Pincess Grace Award. Additional data are the Dore Schary Awards Award and the Jack Nicholson directing award.

His debut as a director, screenwriter and Produtent he gave in 2001 with the short film Silent Beats. His first feature film was Step Up to the Streets from the year 2008. He also staged two years subsequent sequel Step Up 3D. On the fourth part of the Step Up series Step Up: Miami Heat ( 2012) Cho was involved as executive producer.

In the years 2010 to 2011, he held various positions in the series The LXD - Legion of Extraordinary Dancers active. He also served as executive producer several other television projects, including The Arena and S2dio City.

In August 2013 it was announced that Chu is drawn from the film studio Paramount Pictures into account, in directing at the 13th Star Trek movie that will appear on the 50th anniversary of the franchise in 2016.
