Jon Seda

Jonathan " Jon" Seda ( born October 14, 1970 in Manhattan, New York City, New York ) is an American actor.

Life and work

Jon Seda's parents emigrated from Puerto Rico to the United States. He grew up in Clifton and was first active in the sport of boxing. After a few sporting achievements, he received a role in the film drama Zebrahead in 1992. For the main role in the movie I Like It Like That ( 1994) he was nominated in 1995 for the Independent Spirit Award. In the sci-fi thriller 12 Monkeys (1995 ) he appeared alongside Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. In the years 1997 to 1999 he played the role of Detective Paul Falsone on the television series Homicide. For this role he was nominated in 1998 and 1999, the American Latino Media Arts Award.

In the film drama Selena - An American Dream ( 1997), he played the role of Chris Perez, the husband of Selena Quintanilla -Perez, who played Jennifer Lopez. For this role he was nominated in 1998 for the American Latino Media Arts Award. In 2000 he received the Margo Albert Award as the most promising actor ( Most Promising Actor). From 2004 to 2005 he played in the television series Kevin Hill from 2006 to 2007, he took a role in the series Close to Home. In the HBO miniseries The Pacific Seda played the role of U.S. Marines John Basilone 2010. Since 2012, he embodies in a supporting role to Antonio Dawson in the Chicago Fire NBC series. Since January 2014 he is also one of the protagonists in the spin-off Chicago PD.

Seda is married to Lisa Gomez since 2000 and has three children. He lives in a suburb of Philadelphia.
