Jonas Salley

Gyawe Jonas Salley (born 16 March 1982) is an Ivorian footballer who also has an Australian passport. The central midfielder played since 2006 for various teams in the Australian A-League.

Career

Salley, who played in the Ivory Coast in Africa and Séwé Sports Sports National in the first league, moved in 2005 to his father to Australia to escape the social and political issues of his homeland. In Australia, he played some time for a local team, but was soon taken from gambling in the Victorian Premier League South Melbourne FC under contract. For the season 2006/ 07 he moved to New Zealand A-League Team New Zealand Knights. After the team was disbanded at end of season, he stood directly in connection for the finals at the Sydney FC under contract and came to use one.

During the season break, the A-League he played for a few months at Sunshine George Cross, before joining Adelaide United, where he had signed a contract for two years in March 2007.

In the AFC Champions League season in 2008, when Adelaide advanced all the way to the final, Salley could not participate because the Brazilians Cássio, Cristiano and Diego Walsh already occupied the three foreigners courts and Salley, although naturalized in April of the year in football regulations did not count as an Australian player.

When he increasingly as a reserve player was used in the 2008 /09 season, he was not satisfied with his situation in Adelaide and a contract extension was prematurely excluded. Yet he moved after the two semi-final defeats against Melbourne Victory in the root formation and moved to a 1-0 victory against Queensland Adelaide with a the Grand Final. There they stood again Melbourne opposite and were beaten 0:1, although the Salley Melbourne playmaker Carlos Hernandez successfully took from the game.

In March 2009, he moved a few weeks before the season starts to the Chinese first division Shaanxi Chanba.
