Jonathan Del Arco

Jonathan Del Arco ( born March 7, 1966 in Uruguay ) is an American actor and gay and lesbian activists with Uruguayan roots.

Life and career

Jonathan Del Arco, who was born in Uruguay, in his childhood playing with dolls and increasingly like a girl behaved, searched his parents to a psychiatrist who should help him to be more masculine. Del Arco, however, did not change his behavior, which he was later bullied in his school days.

As Del Arco was ten years old, his parents emigrated with him to the United States. There they lived in Port Chester, a town in New York. Later, Del Arco moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. In Los Angeles, he discovered his passion for politics and social engagement. He worked on many campaigns, including some of the lesbian and gay movement.

His acting career began Del Arco already in New York City on Off- Broadway. There he also met his lifelong partner, which, however, in the 1980s, died of AIDS. For the first time on television appeared Jonathan Del Arco in 1987 in an episode of Miami Vice. Until 1997, he was then mainly seen in guest roles, including The Wonder Years, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Pacific Blue - The beach police. Between 2001 and 2002, was followed by further engagements in the Star Trek range. In 2003, he was in three episodes of Nip / Tuck - Beauty has seen its price as Sofia Lopez. After further appearances in Crossing Jordan - pathologist with profile, 24 and The Sopranos, he was seen from 2007 to 2012 in 40 episodes of The Closer as Dr. Morales. He embodies this role since 2012 in its spin -off Major Crimes.
