Jonathan Lasker

Jonathan Lasker ( b. 1948 in Jersey City, New Jersey) is an American artist.

Curriculum vitae

Jonathan Lasker studied 1975-1977 at the School of Visual Arts, New York, in 1977 to the California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, CA. Since 1981 he has participated in group exhibitions in galleries and museums in the U.S. and Europe; since 1981, he also had first solo exhibitions, including a larger retrospective 1997/1998 at the Kunsthalle Bielefeld, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and at the Kunstverein St. Gallen; last (2003) a major solo exhibition at the Art Collection of North Rhine -Westphalia, Dusseldorf. His abstract work lined up in the tradition of Minimal Art, looking for more advanced rules and systems for contemporary art but he understands it much more freely in the form of language than his fellow artists before him.
