Jones Mwewa

Mwewa Jones ( born March 12, 1973 in Ndola, † November 18, 2011 in Kitwe ) was a Zambian footballer.

Career

The defender played in his active career in Zambia for Strike Rovers from Ndola, Kitwe from the Power Dynamos and Konkola Blades from the Chililabombwe. Mwewa was 1995-2002 active players for the national team of Zambia. With the team he won the bronze medal at the African Cup 1996 in South Africa. After the end of his career in 2004 he started as a youth trainer at the Power Dynamos and worked until his death in this position. Mwewa died after a short illness in the presence of his family on November 18, 2011 in his home in Miseshi Township in Kitwe.
