Features

The moths reach a forewing length 12.0 to 13.1 mm in males and 9.0 to 10.0 mm in females. Head and thorax are blackish green, shimmering slightly bluish. The abdomen is blackish gray. The forehead ( frons ) is about twice as wide as the compound eyes. The antennae of the males are long and black and bluish shimmer. The probe shaft is slender at the base and slightly thickened distally. The sensors consist of 43 to 46 segments. The front upper wing surface is brownish green and shimmers just weak. The hind wings are black gray and weakly translucent. The underwings are dark gray. The females are similar to males, but have narrower wings and more rounded wing tips. The probes are weakly serrated.

In the males, is located at the ventral edge of the Valve about halfway to the top of an extension. The Vinculum is provided with a strongly sclerotized and distally rounded Saccusplatte. The aedeagus proximally wider than distally. On the everted bladder are two areas that are occupied by spines. Another small portion is provided with tiny triangular needles. The 8th Abdominalsternit trapezoidal and laterally curved. It reaches the trailing edge of the segment.

The genital of the female has no significant differences from the similar type Jordanita chloros on (see description there).

Similar Species

The similar kind Jordanita chloros is smaller, has a more powerful greenish shimmer and bluer thorax. As is known, is the similar style not sympatric with J. chloronota before, because it has not been observed on the south side of the Cilician Taurus. While Jordanita chloros occurs in dry, steppe-like biotopes, J. chloronota populated humid floriferous localities. Given the enormous variability of Jordanita chloros especially in Turkey, it is possible that J. chloronota represents only a subspecies of J. chloros, although significant differences in habit and the genital of the males exist.

Dissemination

Jordanita chloronota is located on the south side of the Cilician Taurus in southern Turkey and settled relatively moist floriferous meadows.

Biology

The moths fly in June. The biology of the species is unknown.
