Jorge Romo

Jorge Fuentes Romo ( born April 20, 1923 in Mexico City) is a former Mexican football player who acted in defense.

Association

Romo began his playing career with his hometown club Juventud, where he first played in the youth and later in adults. In 1947 he decided to turn pro and signed with CF Asturias. Following the withdrawal of Asturianos from professional football at the end of the season 1949/50, Romo moved to CD Marte and won the championship with this club in the season 1953/54. Immediately after winning the title had to leave due to financial problems of a number of players, and Romo went to Deportivo Toluca FC, ​​where he remained until the end of his active career in 1961 Marte footballers. With this club he won the 1956 Copa México with a 2-1 final victory against Irapuato.

National

His debut in the Mexican national was Romo on 11 September 1949 in a World Cup qualifier against Cuba, which was won 2-0.
