Jorvan Vieira

Jorvan Vieira ( born May 24, 1953 in Duque de Caxias ) is a former Brazilian football player and coach.

He played in Brazil for the club CR Vasco da Gama, Botafogo and Portuguesa, ended his career, however, early and became a coach. In 1980, he coached for one year the Qatar Sports Club before he became coach of the U20 of Oman. After a short time in this position for eight years, he moved to Morocco and supervised there different clubs. With FAR Rabat it was 1987 and 1989, Moroccan champion, 1986 Moroccan Cup winner. In addition, he also coached the club Wydad Casablanca, Tihad Sportif Casablanca and Tangier IR.

With the Football World Cup 1986 he was among his fellow countryman José Faria assistant coach of the Moroccan national team, which reached the first African side to the second round of a World Cup.

In 1999, he led Al Qadsia Kuwait to the state championship in the following season he coached the Egyptian club Ismaily SC and at the same time again the U20 of Oman. After that, he was coach of the U20 of Malaysia, but returned after some time in Oman and won with Al -Nasr the Sultan Qaboos Cup. In 2006, he trained in Saudi Arabia Al - Ta'ee, but was dismissed because of lack of success there.

In May 2007, two months before the start of the Asian Cup 2007, he became coach of the Iraqi national team, with which he for the first time in the history of Iraq also won the Asia Cup. In February 2008 he took over the Iranian first division club Sepahan as a coach, after moderate success in the AFC Champions League, he was, however, released in June of the same year.

In September 2008 he returned to the Iraqi national team, and signed a one -year contract with the Iraqi Football Association. After only four months, however, Vieira was discharged because of Vorrundenauses the Gulf Cup.
