José Aldo

Jose Aldo ( born September 9, 1986) is a Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter. He was the last featherweight champion of the organizer World Extreme Cage Fighting, and after the inclusion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship their first. His competitive career includes 21 wins and one loss.

Aldo began his MMA career in August 2004 in his native Brazil. There he fought in various events, including for Shooto. Twice he went to in the UK and one in Japan. With a record of ten wins and one defeat he had then in June 2008, his first fight in the WEC, where he defeated Alexandre Nogueira by TKO. In the same way he defeated in November the later Ultimate Fighter Jonathan Brookins. This was followed by a victory over Rolando Perez by knockout in January 2009, as well as winning by TKO over Chris Mickle in March and over Cub Swanson after 8 seconds in June. In the main fight of the WEC 44 in November, he ran against the WEC featherweight titleholder Mike Thomas Brown and was named after a TKO victory in the second round as the new champion. This track he could defend against Urijah Faber on points and in September against Manny Gamburyan by KO in April 2010.

After the incorporation of WEC in the hitherto without featherweight class held UFC Jose Aldo was awarded Champion on 20 November 2010, the UFC Featherweight title. This track he had to defend against Mark Hominick, whom he defeated by point decision first on 30 April 2011. His next title defense took place on 8 October 2011. His opponent was Kenny Florian, he also defeated on points. On 14 January 2012, he defended the title in his home country of Brazil. There he was able to defeat Chad Mendes in the first round by KO.
