José Alves

José Alves Dos Santos ( called Zague and José Alves, born August 10, 1934 in Bahia ) is a former Brazilian football player at the position of the striker. He is the father of the widely used Mexican international Luis Roberto Alves, who also spent much of his career in America.

Biography

As far as traceable, Alves began his professional career at Santos FC and the formerly quite successful Botafogo SC. Between 1956 and 1961 he played for SC Corinthians and came for this club at 241 operations on 127 hits.

1961 Alves moved to the Mexican Club América, for whom he scored 102 goals over the years. His most successful season as top scorer in the service of the capital city was 1965/66 when he was División with 20 -goal top scorer of the Mexican Primera and had a major role in ensuring that the Club América in the same season, won its first league title in 1943/44, introduced professional league.

In addition, Alves won with America in the years 1964 and 1965, the Copa México.
