José Della Torre

José Della Torre ( born March 23, 1906 in San Isidro, Argentina, † July 31, 1979 in Lanús, Argentina) was an Argentine football player and coach.

Player

Association

The defender played Della Torre after he kicked at the beginning of his career for San Isidro, among others between 1927 and 1933 at the Argentine club Racing Club Avellaneda. During this time he formed with Fernando Paternoster both in the club until 1932, as well as in the national defense couples. In the professional between 1931 and 1933 he played 58 times for the club. Between 1935 and 1936 he completed then 40 games for Ferro Carril Oeste. In 1937, he joined two official first division matches also for Atalanta. These were the games against the Boca Juniors (April 4, 1937) and River Plate (13 June 1937), the Atlanta both lost (1:2 or 0:4 ). In addition, he played in various South American countries, such as 1938 América FC in Brazil. His career ended in Mexico.

National

Della Torre was also a member of the national team of his native country, and took her part in the first World Cup in 1930. Overall, he completed five matches, but in which he scored a goal.

Coach

After his career he had several times held the position of coach at Racing Club in 1958 and was able to celebrate winning the Argentine league title there. Already 1942-1943, 1949-1952 and again in 1961 he also held the coach of his former club Ferro Carril Oeste. Another coach station he graduated in 1959 in the Primera B in CA Platense. The Argentine national team he coached and won with this, supported by the team of trainers completing it, Victorio Spinetto and José Barreiro, the Campeonato Sudamericano 1959.
