José do PatrocÃnio
José Carlos do Patrocínio ( born October 8, 1854 in Campos, in today's State of Rio de Janeiro, † January 30, 1905 in Rio de Janeiro) was a Brazilian journalist, writer, publisher, and political activist.
Life
Visually recognizable as a person with colored ancestors, he was driven by his writings abolutionistischen an outstanding figure in the anti - slavery movement from Brazil in 1879. Patrocínio wrote the Declaration of policy objectives and intentions, which in 1883 because Confederação Abolicionista made public as Manifesto.
His novels, short stories and satires, however, are hardly known today. The work Patrocínios includes three novels, of which Mota Coqueiro ou A pena de morte (1887 ) is the meistrezipierte novel.
Between 1887 and 1893 he moved himself and also wrote to the magazine A Cidade do Rio under the pseudonym publication Patrocínio because of a publication ban ultimately had to stop.
