José Longinos Ellauri

José Longinus Ellauri Fernández ( born March 14, 1789 in Montevideo, † November 21, 1867 ) was a Uruguayan politician and lawyer.

Life

Ellauri was a member of the Asamblea Constituyente y Legislativa del Estado Oriental ( 1828-1830 ). In the first term (October 4, 1830 - June 15, 1833 ) he was a member of 14 October to 10 November 1830, the Cámara de Senadores as a Senator for the Department of Canelones. Furthermore, he was from the February 17, 1834 deputy in the Cámara de Representantes for the Department of Montevideo in the second term of (15 February 1834 - February 14, 1837 ). In 1835 he had thereby also the position of Vice President of the House of Representatives held. A total of three times during the periods of March 11 1830 to April 20, 1830, from 11 November 1830 to September 2, 1831 and ending February 6, 1839 to October 19, 1839, he was also Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay.

His son was the later, Uruguayan President José Eugenio Ellauri.
