Life

Josef Anton Henne's ancestors came from Bavaria, he was the son of a tailor. At age 12, he was in the monastery Ragaz, which he left at 17 to study student in Heidelberg and Freiburg im Breisgau. After teaching jobs in Hofwil and St. Gallen, he became a professor at the University of Bern and began to engage in political activities.
