Josef Dachs

Josef Dachs ( born September 30, 1825 Regensburg, † June 6, 1896 in Vienna ) was an Austrian pianist and music teacher.

He was a pupil of Simon Sechter and Carl Czerny.

He was appointed in 1850 professor at the Conservatory of the Society of Friends of Music in Vienna. His students included, inter alia, Hugo Wolf, Ferdinand Lion, Vladimir of Pachmann, Anton Rubinstein, Leoš Janáček, Isabelle Vengerova and Juliusz Zarębski.
