Josef Zítek

Zítek Josef, Josef of Zitek or Zitek Joseph ( born April 4, 1832 in Karlin; † August 2, 1909 in Prague) was a Czech architect.

Life

Zítek studied at the Polytechnic in Prague and Vienna, and at the Prague Academy. He was representative of the Vienna New Renaissance and the Late Northern Italian Renaissance, with Bohemian influence was always visible. Zítek was later a professor at the Polytechnic in Prague and a member of the Vienna Academy.

After the fire, the National Theatre is Zítek 1881 moved back to Lčovice. In the same year he married Berta Lippert, the daughter of the owner of the manor Marie Leopoldina Lippert, of which he bought the castle and estate Lčovice 1883 Zálezly. From Kaiser Zítek was raised to Baron. After his death the Lčovice castle belonged until 1926 to the sons of Joseph and Berthold Zítek. His grave is in the cemetery at Malenice.
