Joseph Augustin Fournier

Joseph Augustin Fournier de Loysonville, called Joseph Daultanne ( born August 18, 1759 in Valréas; † January 7, 1828 ) was a French general.

Life

1775 Daultanne in the royal army. During the revolutionary war he was able to repeatedly distinguished by courage and bravery and was promoted very quickly.

Under the leadership of General Jean -Baptiste Jourdan, he fought among others before Amberg (24 August 1796). He later transferred to the staff of General André Masséna and participated in the Battle of Zurich ( 25-26. September 1799 ).

After subsequent promotions he fought bravely at Engen (May 3, 1800), Hohenlinden (3 December 1800), Austerlitz (2 December 1805), Jena (14 October 1806), Prussian Eylau ( February 7/8 1807) and Friedland (14 June 1807).

After the peace of Tilsit ( 7 / July 9, 1807 ) Napoleon appointed him military governor of Warsaw ( → Duchy of Warsaw ).

After the battle of Paris (30 March 1814) and the abdication of Napoleon (→ Treaty of Fontainebleau ) Daultanne was a partisan King Louis XVIII. Also during Napoleon's " rule of the Hundred Days " was Daultanne faithful to the Bourbons. During the year Daultanne resigned his offices and settled in his home town down. Joseph Daultanne died on 7 January 1828, there was also his last resting place.
