Joseph Crowley

Joseph Crowley ( born March 16, 1962 in New York City ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party, and since 1999 a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the state of New York.

Biography

Joseph Crowley was born the son of Irish-American father and a Catholic immigrant from County Armagh (Northern Ireland) in New York City. He attended the private Roman Catholic school in New York City. The high school he graduated from the also located in New York Power Memorial Academy. At Queens College, where he earned his degree in political science. He then worked as a political assistant. At the age of 24 he was elected to the New York State Assembly, where he remained until his election to the U.S. House of Representatives.

As the successor of Thomas J. Manton, he was elected in 1999 to the U.S. House of Representatives. He is representing the seventh congressional district in New York. This is composed of parts of Queens and the Bronx. Crowley is a member of the Committee on Ways and Means and the Committee on Foreign Affairs. His mandate for his defense in the subsequent elections respectively.

Crowley lives with his wife Kasey and his three daughters in Queens. He is Roman Catholic faith.
