Joseph Henry Kuhns

Joseph Henry Kuhns (* September 1800 in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, † November 16, 1883 ) was an American politician. Between 1851 and 1853 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Joseph Kuhn attended the public schools of his home and thereafter until 1820, the Washington College. After a subsequent law degree in 1823 and its recent approval as a lawyer, he started in Greensburg to work in this profession. Later he became a member of the founded in the 1830s Whig party.

In the congressional elections of 1850 Kuhn was in the 19th electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the Democrats job man on March 4, 1851. Since he has not been confirmed in 1852, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1853. This was marked by the events leading up to the Civil War.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Joseph Kuhn practiced as a lawyer again. He died on 16 November 1883 in his hometown of Greensburg, where he was also buried.
