Joseph Liu Xinhong

Joseph Liu Xinhong (刘新虹; * around 1945 ) is, since May 3, 2006 Bishop of Wuhu Chinese state church, Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association. Due to its proximity to the Communist Party of the Vatican announced early on concerns which led him to reject a consecration in February. An increased pressure from the governance led then but to his consecration without prior approval of the Vatican. This led to canon law following his excommunication by the Roman Catholic Church.
