Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil

Joseph Prathan Sridanusil SDB ( Thai: โย เซฟ ประธาน ศรี ดา รุ ณ ศีล, pronounced [ jo ː sê ː p Prat ʰ a ː n sǐ ː da ː runsǐ ː n]; born February 9, 1946 in Wat Phleng ) is a Thai religious priests and Roman Catholic Bishop of Surat Thani.

Life

Joseph Prathan Sridanusil occurred in 1964 in the novitiate of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Hua Hin and laid on October 2, 1965 his first vows. He studied philosophy and theology in Hong Kong in Bethlehem ( West Bank). On June 29, 1975, he received by Pope Paul VI. in Rome the priesthood. He was then at the College " St. Dominic " in Bangkok and worked from 1979 to 1980 Rector of the College " Saeng Thong " in Hat Yai and from 1980 to 1982 Rector of the College in Bandon. From 1982 to 1984 he completed his doctoral studies in spirituality at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome. From 1984 to 1986 he was principal of the school for religious aspirants in Hua Hin, then as vicar inspection of the Thai Salesian Province ( 1986-1992 ) and Provincial of the Salesian Province of Thailand ( 1992-1998). From 1998 to 2001 he was rector in Udon Thani, 2001-2004 Rector of the formation house in Sampran. Since 2004 he has been Provincial of the Salesian Province of Thailand.

On 9 October 2004 appointed him Pope John Paul II to the Bishops of the Diocese of Surat Thani Thailand. The Episcopal ordination on November 28, 2004 He received his Crescenzio Cardinal Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Bangkok Michael Mihai Cardinal Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio and Kitbunchu, Nuncio to Thailand.
