Joseph Rudolph Grimes

Joseph Rudolph Grimes (* October 31, 1923, † September 7, 2007 in Guttenberg, New Jersey ) was a Liberian lawyer and politician.

Career

Grimes was the son of Louis Arthur Grimes lawyers and Victoria Grimes to the world. He attended the College of West Africa, and closed on Liberia College with the degree of Bachelor of Arts. He then went to Harvard Law School, where he earned a law degree. At Columbia University in New York, he completed a master's degree in international relations.

After his return he founded the Liberia College after his father named Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law and was the first dean in 1951.

Having already served as Secretary of State in the Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he became acting head of the Ministry in 1958 and 1960 under President William S. Tubman foreign minister. He remained until 1971, in office.
