Joseph Thors

Joseph Thors (* 1835, † 1884) was an English landscape painter who exhibited widely in the late 19th century in England.

Life

Relatively little is known about Thors ' life, he worked and lived in London, and later in Birmingham, for a while he traveled to France. He has exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, British Institution and the Society of British Artists, as well as in London and also in Birmingham 1869-1900.

Thor is seen as a member of the Birmingham School, although his style is that of the Norwich School corresponded, whom he admired. He painted with oil, his work turned peaceful English rustic locales is: Landscapes, houses, people and animals. He also painted river landscapes and sometimes coasts.
