Joseph Zobel
Joseph Zobel ( born April 26, 1915 in Riviere Salee, Martinique, † June 18, 2006 in Alès, France) was a writer.
Joseph Zobel wrote several novels and short stories, in which it is all about social problems. His most famous novel La Rue Cases- Negres ( filmed in 1982 by Euzhan Palcy ) is a story about a boy who is raised by his grandmother in Martinique, where although there is no more slavery, but still many plantations. Joseph Zobel lived for a time in Senegal, most recently in the south of France.
