Josh Brolin

Josh James Brolin ( born February 12, 1968 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor, film producer and director.

Life and career

As the son of actor James Brolin and Jane Cameron Agee his first wife Brolin grew up in California.

As an actor, he first attracted attention in Steven Spielberg's The Goonies (1985). In the following decades, he has played numerous roles and stepped out of the shadow of his father more and more. He had lead roles among others in Hollow Man - Invisible Danger (2000) and Melinda and Melinda ( 2004). 2007 Brolin starred in the Oscar- winning movie No Country for Old Men as well as in the Valley of Elah in the cinema. In 2009 he received for the role of the murderer of Harvey Milk (played by Sean Penn ) in Gus Van Sant's biopic Milk ( 2008) his first Oscar nomination. In 2010 he played in the Jonah Hex comic book adaptation of the same name starring John Malkovich misconduct. In the same year he played the role of the murderer Tom Chaney in the Western True Grit, directed by Ethan and Joel Coen. In 2012, he starred opposite Will Smith in Men in Black 3 as a young Agent K. In April 2012 he got the role of Joe Douchett where produced by Steven Spielberg U.S. remake of the South Korean thriller Oldboy by Park Chan -wook. 2013 he is in Sin City: A Dame to be seen Kill for the sequel to Sin City as Dwight McCarthy.

From 1988 to 1992 Brolin was married to fellow actress Alice Adair, with whom he has two children. From 1998 to 2001 he was in a relationship with fellow actress Minnie Driver. Since 2004, he was married to fellow actress Diane Lane. The pair were, however, in February 2013 his separation known to the divorce took place on 27 November 2013.
