Josh Davis (swimmer)

Josh Davis ( born September 1, 1972 in San Antonio, Texas) is a former American swimmer and triple Olympic champion.

He joined in 1996 at the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta and won with the U.S. swimming seasons three gold medals there. Four years later at the Summer Olympics in Sydney, he was captain of the U.S. swimming team and won two silver medals with the seasons.

After Davis the fastest swimmer of San Antonio was, he received a scholarship to study at the University of Texas. He was inducted into the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame on 15 February 2008.

In February 2009, four of his Olympic medals were stolen from his car after he returned from a swim clinic in St. Louis. He then offered a reward for their return. He had already lost two years earlier and not found again one of the two silver medals. On 13 February, the medals were again found by a cleaning team outside the Salvation Army 's Boys and Girls Clubs. That same evening they were returned Davis.

Currently, Davis lives in San Antonio, where he operates a floating clinic and also works as a motivational speaker. He and his wife Shantel have five children.
