Josh Wink

Josh Wink (born 1970 as Joshua Winkelman ) is an American techno DJ, musician, music producer and remixer.

Life

A native of Philadelphia Josh Wink began in 1987 to hang in the house clubs of his hometown as a DJ. In 1990 he published jointly with King Britt under the project name E-Culture, the single " Tribal Confusion" on Strictly Rhythm, after followed his own house label Trax Happy Maxis single " Strong Song". His incipient reputation as a DJ meant that he was soon to hang up in New York City. Around 1992, Wink was mainly active as a remixer for various labels, this evolved musically but increasingly in the direction of techno and acid house. In 1994 he founded together with King Britt music label Ovum Records.

Mid-90s, appeared numerous own publications. With " Do not Laugh " succeeded Wink 1995 an international success. The title with the distinctive laugh sample is regarded as one of the biggest hits in the genre of acid house. He also briefly attended a stir with the minimum production " Higher State Of Consciousness ". Since many labels wanted exclusive rights to Josh Winks productions, he stepped on different labels under each slightly different pseudonyms in appearance: " Winx ", "wink ", " Winc ", " Winks ", etc.
