Tom Middleton

Tom Middleton ( born August 18, 1971) is a British musician, DJ, remixer and music producer who was also known by pseudonyms such as Schizophrenia or E621.

Together with musician Mark Pritchard, he published in 1992 under the project name as Global Communication, Jedi Knights, Link & E621 and reload several albums and singles.

Life and career

After a classical music training on the piano and cello to Middleton sat from 1989 increasingly engaged with electronic music. In the same year he met Richard D. James aka Aphex Twin know. With this he took, among others, on the piece En Trance To Exit, which appeared on the Aphex Twin Analogue Bubblebath single 1991. In the same year appeared Middleton's first single My Splendid Idea ' under the pseudonym Schizophrenia

A larger audience, however, was known for his collaboration with musician Mark Pritchard Middleton. First published both under the project name reload, which was originally a solo project Pritchard. The first joint publications such as The Reload EP or The Biosphere EP were the pieces together produced more marked Reload & E621. Soon, however, Middleton was an integral part of the project and the album A Collection Of Short Stories was published in 1993, only under the name of a reload.

The duo founded at this time also the Ambient project Global Communication, which was primarily known for the 1994 publication on Dedicated album 76:14. The album received mostly good to very good reviews and was described by critics of The Guardian as " unfathomably beautiful, timeless masterpiece ," The added to the list in 1000 Albums to Hear Before You.

Middleton and Pritchard turned in 1995 with the project Jedi Knights Electro. In the same year, the single May The Funk Be With You on Clear and 1996 the album New School Science on Evolution appeared. Between 1997 and 1999, followed by three more singles as Jedi Knights.

In 2006 appeared with a new album Evolution of the reload project. In the year with live tracks appeared on a solo album Middletons.

Middleton also published numerous DJ mixes and presented different compilations, such as the series Crazy Covers, which deals with unusual cover versions. In addition, he is known as a prolific remixer, who has already published well over a hundred remixes solo and together with Pritchard.
