Publication process

History

The Journal of Development Economics was first published in 1974 and since then appears every two months. The current editor of the Journal of Development Economics is Maitreesh Ghatak. He is assisted by eight editors and 53 associate editor.

Reception

In a by Kalaitzidakis et al. (2003) study on the quality economics publications reached the Journal of Development Economics Rank 40 of 159 evaluated publications, but improved in a later study of Kalaitzidakis et al. (2011) ranked 23 out of 209 publications in economics publication ranking of the Tinbergen Institute ( " good scientific journals for all research fields of the Tinbergen Institute " ) is performed, the Journal of Development Economics in category B.

The Impact Factor of the Journal of Development Economics was in 2012 at 2,353.
