Journal of Labor Economics

The Journal of Labor Economics ( JOLE ) is an economics journal which is devoted to labor economics and the official publication of the Society of Labor Economists ( SOLE ) holds. The Journal of Labor Economics is published by the U.S. Publisher University of Chicago Press.

History

The Journal of Labor Economics was founded in 1983 as the first journal, which specialized in labor economics.

Content

The research papers that are published in the Journal of Labor Economics examine various aspects of labor economics, including supply and demand for labor and services, personnel economics, distribution of income, union behavior and collective bargaining, applied labor economics and labor policy, labor markets and demographics.

Editing

The editors of the Journal of Labor Economics consists of Paul Oyer of Stanford University, as editor in chief and Maggie Newman as Managing Editor, nine editors, ten associate editor and a six-member editorial board.

Reception

In a study of Kalaitzidakis et al. (2003) documented the Journal of Labor Economics Course 24 of 159 evaluated publications, however, declined in an updated study of Kalaitzidakis et al. (2011) ranked 25 out of 209 compared Publications from. In economics publication ranking of the Tinbergen Institute at the University of Amsterdam is performed, the Journal of Labor Economics in category A ("very good general economics journals and top journals in their field ").
