Journal of Physical Chemistry A

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, abbreviated J. Phys. Chem A, is one of the weekly publication organs of the American Chemical Society. The first edition of this journal was published in October 1896 under the title The Journal of Physical Chemistry (abbreviated J. Phys. Chem ). From 1947 to 1950, the name was extended to the "Journal of Physical Chemistry and Colloid Chemistry", then was returned to the original name. In 1997, there was a split in The Journal of Physical Chemistry A and The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2007 was followed by The Journal of Physical Chemistry C.

The published article revealed to the splitting up of the magazines the entire field of physical chemistry from, treated since, The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, the subjects molecular theoretical and experimental physical chemistry, The Journal of Physical Chemistry B solids, soft matter and liquids and The Journal of Physical Chemistry C nanotechnology, surfaces, catalysis and electron transport.

The Impact Factor was in 2012 at 2,771. According to the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge, the journal impact factor with this in the category of physical chemistry is performed on 49 out of 134 journals and in the category of nuclear physics and molecular and chemical physics tenth of 34 magazines.
