Journal of the European Economic Association

The Journal of the European Economic Association ( JEEA ) is an economics journal, on behalf of the European Economic Association (EEA ) is published by Wiley -Blackwell every two months. Self- declared goal of the JEEA is to promote the objectives of the EEA, the development and application of economics as a science, the communication and exchanges between teachers, researchers and students of economics. The JEEA is among the top 10 percent economic publications.

History

After the first, since 1986 had been the official journal of the European Economic Association European Economic Review ( EER), published by Elsevier, 2003, the Journal of the European Economic Association was newly created to specifically fulfill this role. Reason for the termination of the contract with Elsevier was and the change to JEEA as the official journal of the EEA to a dissatisfaction with the fact that the Act was not the owner of the EER, the other one indicated by Elsevier purchase price of the EER, the many EEA members as to highly thought. The publication of JEEA was first transferred to the publisher MIT Press, 2011, however, went to Wiley- Blackwell. First editor of JEEA was Xavier Vives, whose office in 2009 Zilibotti took over. The current editorial team consists of Fabio Canova, Stefano Della Vigna, Zilibotti and Dirk Bergemann.

Content

The Journal of the European Economic Association is called article suggestions welcome from all areas of economics and has no specific methodological or content preference. Was to those previously published on the research fields in which JEEA include applied econometrics, behavioral economics, economic growth and development economics, economic theory, experimental economics, public finance, macroeconomics, organizational theory and political economy.

Reception

In a study of Kalaitzidakis et al. (2011) documented the Journal of the European Economic Association 19th place out of 209 evaluated publications. In economics publication ranking of the Tinbergen Institute at the University of Amsterdam, the journal of the European Economic Association is classified in category A ( " very good general economics journals and top journals in their field ").

Among the articles that have had great influence on modern economics and have been published in the Journal of the European Economic Association, include:

Other important contributions were made by Alesina, Campante and Tabellini (2008), Gali and Salido (2007 ), Stock and Watson ( 2005), Blundell, Costa Dias and Meghir (2004), Fehr and List ( 2004) and Tabellini (2010).
