Jovan Kirovski (2007)

Jovan Kirovski ( born March 18, 1976 in Escondido, California) is an American football player of Macedonian descent.

Career

Kirovski is striker and joined the 1996 season from England from Manchester United to Borussia Dortmund.

For Manchester United, he was mainly used in Reserveelf. He came as a teenager from the United States to United, where he was the first American in the squad. Due to problems in obtaining a work permit in England, he moved to Germany in 1996 to Borussia Dortmund.

When Borussia technically skilful player but also not make it past the role of a Einwechselspielers. However, he belonged to the squad of the team of Borussia Dortmund, the Champions League in Munich won against Juventus in 1997. In the final of the World Cup on 3 December 1997 in Tokyo, he was even on as a substitute in the 80th minute for Michael Zorc.

In 1998, Kirovski on loan to the 2nd Bundesliga for SC Fortuna Köln. From there he came over Sporting Lisbon, Crystal Palace and Birmingham City back to the United States. There was active in the MLS for the San Jose Earthquakes. Previously, he played for the Los Angeles Galaxy and Colorado Rapids.

After the season, he is active for Los Angeles Galaxy again. On November 21, 2011, he won with the Los Angeles Galaxy MLS Cup with a 1-0 victory against the Houston Dynamo in the MLS Cup.

National

Jovan Kirovski scored in the years 1994-2004 for the United States in 62 games overall 9 goals. Despite a considerable number of appearances for the U.S., he never belonged to a squad to a world championship team in the U.S.. However, he was part of the football team of the United States at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Since first international match he played on 19 October 1994 against Saudi Arabia.
