Jovo Simanić

Jovica Simanic ( born August 8, 1965 in Lazarevo, SFR Yugoslavia, nicknamed Jovo ) is a former Serbian football player and current coach.

The defender played for FK Proleter Zrenjanin, VfB Stuttgart, Benfica, Boavista and AD Ovarense.

On 30 September 1992 Simanic came in the UEFA Champions League to his only game for the first team of VfB Stuttgart, as he came off the bench in the second leg of the first round against Leeds United in the 83rd minute of VfB champion coach Christoph Daum for Maurizio Gaudino. This Substitutes had serious consequences, as with Eyjólfur Sverrisson, Slobodan Dubajić and Adrian Knup three foreign players were used in this game already and the use of more foreigners were not allowed for VfB. Although the VfB had progressed athletic, there was a replay on a neutral field in Barcelona, where the VfB defeated with 1:2 and retired.
